a BIG Happy Birthday!

Well, Christmas was wonderful to MY family, how about yours? :) I can't believe how much FUN it was to watch my children open their presents on Christmas morning...such sweeties, excited at everything they received!! Of course, I had a bit to get excited about as well...a new desk for my craft corner- about 3 times the size of my old one!! Yeah!! More room to work with and spread out, and the ability to have more tools at my fingertips, instead of getting up to get them from all other areas of my 'space'. AND-- drumroll please....I got a SLICE!!!!!!! YIPPPPEEEEEE!!! I can't WAIT to get that baby up and running! No more holiday cards for me! This birthday card was made using neglected Bella stamps. :)

Stamps: Bella and sentiment (Stamping Bella)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento); Antique Linen (Ranger); Copics
Paper: Terracotta Tile, Stamper's Select White (Papertrey Ink); Nook and Pantry collection (Basic Grey)
Other: gems (K & Co.); Nestabilities (Spellbinders); Cuttlebug Argyle embossing folder (Provocraft); Stickles (Ranger)

Turning a New Leaf birthday

Well, Christmas is over so no more Christmas cards to show!! :) I hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas with their family...this is preposted, so I'm going to assume I had a wonderful day! :) It's not over yet...one more celebration to go and then I can likely say I'm sick of turkey dinners.

I made a birthday card for my mother-in-law for someone ELSE to give her and I loved using Turning a New Leaf with Terracotta Tile paper- my first time using both of these and I'm loving it! My only problem was that I stamped a text background on the Terracotta Tile cardstock in the same colour of ink and it basically blended right in so now the bottom quarter of the card looks bare. Oh well...

Supplies: (all Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted)
Stamps: Turning a New Leaf, Vintage Picnic, Background Basics: Text Style
Ink: Dark Chocolate; Ripe Avocado, Chai, Terracotta Tile
Paper: Rustic Cream, Terracotta Tile
Other: Ribbon (misc.); gems (K & Co.)

Santa's house??

My son Jake thinks this is Santa's house... :) Maybe it is?! This is one of Lauren Meader's fabulous templates from Papertrey Ink... Home Made. Very easy to put together with some help from Scor Tape, and it didn't take me too long either once I got going. My mom was helpful in showing me some tips and tricks since she has made a few as well.

Stamps: Home Made (PTI)
Ink: Dark Chocolate, Chai, Pure Poppy (PTI)
Paper: Rustic Cream, Kraft, New Leaf (PTI); Jolly by Golly (Cosmo Cricket)

Christmas Joy!

I've asked Santa to bring me a photo/light box for Christmas! Crossing my fingers... :) I know the last few pics have been horrible and I'm sorry for that. These cards DO look so much better IRL.

This card tells a tale of Christmas Joy. I LOVE the fabulous images and journal notes that Crafty Secrets offers. It makes card-making SO much easier.

Today I'm off to a family Christmas for my husband's side of the family to experience some Christmas joy of my own. Ever heard any horrible in-law stories??? Well....I don't have any! My in-laws are just fabulous, wonderful people and they don't even read this blog so I'm not sucking up!! Hahaha. I love this particular family Christmas. Good food, lots of laughs, babies crawling all around, sisters squabbling over who makes better gravy and Grandma 'A' (as we call her) getting teary eyed over how much love there is all around...I can't ask for a better day.

Paper: Kraft, Scarlet Jewel (Papertrey Ink); patterned Kraft (Jillibean Soup)
Ink: Chamomile (Papertrey Ink)
Other: Scarlet Jewel button (Papertrey Ink); twine (misc.); Diamond Stickles; Christmas Image and Journal Notes (Crafty Secrets)

Catch me you if you can!!

Making this gingerbread man card inspired me to do some baking and create a gingerbread house with my son. Alright- I'm exaggerating a bit...I bought a kit and all we had to do was put it together! : ) Actually, now that I think about it, I did most of the putting together while Jake stole candies and ate them!!! Now I'm having a hard time convincing him that we can't eat and that it's just to look at! Maybe after Christmas- them we'll probably chip a tooth!! :)

Stamps: Holiday Button Bits, Signature Christmas (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Dark Chocolate, Scarlet Jewel, Chamomile (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: New Leaf, Scarlet Jewel, Sweet Blush, Stamper's Select (Papertrey Ink); Eskimo Kisses (Basic Grey)

After this post, I'm headed back to the couch armed with my box of Kleenex and my cup of tea, and I'm going to settle in to watch One Life to Live...tis' the season for cold and flu! The magic of Christmas...

I'll admit, there is not a lot of Christmas magic around our house yet. I love Christmas and my children are at the age to fully enjoy it so I AM looking forward to Christmas Day, but right now with no snow on the ground it's hard to get into the spirit of the season!! I don't even have my tree up yet. Don't worry that will be remedied SOON!

This card is a CASE from SCS. Lots of Christmas inspiration there to be found! Coincidentally, it happened to be created by one of my fave Papertrey Ink designers- Niki Estes.

Supplies: (all Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted)
Stamps: Tree Trimming Trio
Ink: Ripe Avocado, Scarlet Jewel, Vintage Cream; Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Paper: Kraft
Other: Scarlet Jewel satin ribbon; corner rounder (Marvy)

Wishing you...

There is a whole mish-mash of product going on here despite it being a simple card! I love it when that happens, because I usually get stuck on only using a certain companies products all on one card. I find it hard incorporating different papers and stamps...but I think I did it okay this time around!?

Stamps: Tree Trimming Trio, Snowfall Additions (PTI); Heart Warmers (Cornish Heritage Farms)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento); Ripe Avocado, Chamomile (PTI); red glitter marker (Sakura)
Cardstock: Stamper's Select, Spring Rain (PTI); designer paper (My Mind's Eye)

Babybabybabybabybaby... Nope, no more babies around here !! :) I'm not sure if I like the black ink for the sentiment, but at the time I couldn't think of anything else, so I went with what was on hand! That happens a lot around here...haha. This afternoon is Christmas cookie day! Jake and I are going to bake some "kid friendly" recipes together. He is SO good at licking the bowl and spoon-haha! It's good bonding time for mommy and son, AND I find the measuring, etc. helps him with early math skills...aren't I smart!? :)

Stamps: Mega Mixed Messages, Polka Dot Basics II (PTI)

A very Merry Christmas the Crafty Secrets way...

Man oh man, I just LOVE all these Crafty Secrets products!! This particular 'scrap' is from the Christmas Image and Journal Notes. All I had to do was trim it to fit, and add a little bit of Stickles for extra "oomph". Very vintage-y and heartwarming and I think many on the receiving end of my Christmas card list will love it!

Yesterday was the final craft sale of the season for my mom and I. It was a long day and I slept GREAT last night! I love meeting people who are interested in what we do/make and have lots of questions. If I can convince someone to pick up a stamp and get inky that always makes me happy!! :)

Stamps: Pretty Pattern backgrounder (CHF)
Ink: Scarlet Jewel, Chai (PTI)
Cardstock: Kraft, Scarlet Jewel (PTI); green (Bazzil)
Other: decorative corner punch (Fiskars); lace border punch (Martha Stewart); brads (unknown); ribbon (Making Memories) ; Stickles

Ohhhh Baby!

I have to admit, I am OVER baby cards now. While I was expecting my daughter, and for the few months after all I could do was make baby cards. I had BABIES on the BRAIN! :) Now, as I look at Robin who is 10 months old, I realize she is not much of a baby anymore and so...my baby mojo has left. Hahaha!!

Stamps: baby carriage (unknown)
Ink: Spring Moss, Chamomile (PTI)
Paper: Melon Berry, Spring Moss, Vintage Cream, Green Tea Leaves dp (PTI)
Other: Spring Moss ribbon (PTI); pearls (Kaisercraft)

Wishing you a very Merry Christmas!

This one involved just a little masking to get that red circle perfectly placed. I stamped the tree on a scrap piece of paper, cut it out and layered it over my already stamped tree so the circle would not show through the tree. Not hard, and you all know how to do it already I'm sure! :)

Supplies: (all Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted)
Stamps: Tree Trimming Trio, Borders and Corners: Circle, Signature Christmas
Ink: Ripe Avocado, Pure Poppy, Chamomile; Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Paper: Ripe Avocado, Rustic Cream
Other: circle punch (SU!); decorative edge blade (Purple Cow); foam dimensionals

More gingerbread and Christmas craftiness!

Are you sick of seeing Holiday Button Bits yet? I promise to give it a rest. :) This card was very simple to make (maybe TOO simple, it is just lacking something).

Supplies: (all Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted)
Stamps: Holiday Button Bits, Signature Christmas
Ink: Dark Chocolate; Red glitter marker (Spica)
Cardstock: Vintage Cream, New Leaft
Other: Nestabilities (Spellbinders); Pure Poppy buttons

We had our community craft bazaar yesterday and sold our cards and other paper crafting goods. It was lots of fun, and so good to see neighbours and others we haven't seen in a long time. Our cards sold very well, other stuff not so much which was surprising...I mean, with a banner like that who wouldn't be drawn to our table!? My mother made it...she's just a wee bit talented. :)

Run, run as fast as you can!

You can't catch me I'm the gingerbread man!! That's what this little image reminds me of...a favourite childhood story that I now love telling to my children. Yep- Holiday Button Bits is right up there on my list of favourite Papertrey Ink stamp sets.
A detail- I used a strip of Scor Tape across the middle of the card and sprinkled clear glitter on it to break up that vast expanse of paper...I actually don't like the result and wish I would have thought of something else... :(

Stamps: Holiday Button Bits, Tree Trimming Trio (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Dark Chocolate, Chai (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: Sweet Blush, Spring Rain, Vintage Cream (Papertrey Ink); Eskimo Kisses (Basic Grey)

Let there be...peace on earth!

I found myself wanting to create something a little more traditional for a Christmas card today. I just love all those quirky, cute, and 'off' colour Christmas cards (think pink and frosty blue), but I found myself longing for something rich, red and religious- hahaha. These gorgeous stamps can be found at Cornish Heritage Farms here and here.

Stamps: Christmas Expressions, We Three Kings (Cornish Heritage Farms)
Ink: Dark Chocolate, Pure Poppy, Chai (Papertrey Ink)
Cardstock: Dark Chocolate, Pure Poppy, Vintage Cream (Papertrey Ink); Jolly by Golly collection (Cosmo Cricket)

Simple Elegant Wedding

This card on SCS gave me the inspiration for my own version...alright, not so much inspiration as a direct CASE, but oh well. I used various Cuttlebug folders, with a Kaisercraft gem for added "bling." Lovely for a wedding card! I hope everyone else is having as sunshiny weekend as we are here in South Western Ontario!!

Cardstock: Stamper's Select, Soft Stone (Papertrey Ink)

To the perfect couple...

Wedding season for us is over (for now anyway) so it seems. I'm at the age where almost all my good friends are recently married, or about to be married, so these wedding cards come in handy!! Now I'll just have to stock up on BABY cards :)

I love these Wedding Centres stamps by CHF. They are just *perfect* for the inside sentiment in your wedding card, and sometimes like on this card- good for the outside too!

Holiday Planner!

Who doesn't need a nice notebook dedicated solely to jotting down those lists and lists of things to do, things to buy and people to see during the holiday season? Splitcoaststampers has a great tutorial on how to make these lovelies, and even better, Papertrey Ink has a stamp set dedicated entirely to creating notebooks!!

Timeless Templates- Around Town Tote

I love these templates by Lauren Meader (for Papertrey Ink). They are quick, easy and beautiful! This Around Town Tote I put together pretty quickly (a little head turned sideways here, tongue sticking out there) and was pleased with the result! I made quite a few of these to give presents in this holiday season- they fit so many things- CD, paperback book, lotion and soap combo, pretty much anything you can think of!!

Another Crafty Christmas

This little boy jumper follows all the same principles as the little girl dress in the previous post. :) I used gorgeous Cosmo Cricket papers, and added a few touches with Scarlet Jewel buttons, Bella dots and a Martha Stewart punch.

My mom and I are off to a craft sale today to get ideas on how to decorate OUR table for the local Christmas Bazaar the end of November! Maybe I'll buy a few things while I'm there! :)

Ink: Chamomile (PTI)
Paper: Jolly by Golly (Cosmo Cricket)

Crafty Secrets Christmas

I was so excited to enter the Crafty Secrets booth at this summer's CHA Supershow in Orlando. I'd heard about their products, seen them online, but never ventured into Crafty Secrets 'territory' before. That all changed the moment I walked into their beautifully decorated booth...I was in LOVE! :) I bought the cutest little chipboard dress and knew that I would decorate it Christmas-style. Here is the finished result. I also bought the vintage hanger there...a very neat finished touch.

I traced all the pieces onto the designer paper and cut it out as closely as possible. After gluing it on, I trimmed any overhanging edges, sanded them down and inked the edges with Chamomile ink. Then I painted the edges with the gold paint pen. When you untie the ribbon and open it up, it is covered with Vintage Cream paper inside.

Paper: Jolly by Golly designer paper (Cosmo Cricket); Vintage Cream (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Chamomile (Papertrey Ink); gold paint pen (Krylon)
Other: Gold ribbon, Pure Poppy button (Papertrey Ink); gold baubles and gold dot (Stamping Bella); sanding block (Heidi Swapp); twine (misc.)

Soft, sweet and serene!

This stamp is pretty when stamped with soft, sweet colours and the new formulation of Papertrey Ink's Sweet Blush and Spring Moss meets that criteria! The image is called Solidago Sprig and is by Rubber Stampede. I stamped the image on cream coloured, linen textured cardstock and inked the edges with chamomile tea dye ink. I used my SU! scalloped border punch on the one edge and tied across Spring Moss satin dots ribbon. The card base is also Spring Moss, and I used a Cuttlebug border strip along the right edge. The sentiment is from Mega Mixed Messages by PTI- my "go-to" set for many of my cards!

Stamps: Solidago Sprig (Rubber Stampede) Mega Mixed Messages (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Sweet Blush, Spring Moss, Dark Chocolate, Chamomile (Papertrey Ink)

You're so sweet/my sweeties!

One of my favourite Papertrey Ink sets...Everyday Button Bits. My new fave is of course, Holiday Button Bits! I paired the cherry stems with Pure Poppy buttons, and pretty designer paper from October Afternoon's Cherry Hill collection.

Speaking of October afternoons...(that was kinda cheesy wasn't it??) I took some pictures of my little ones playing outside yesterday since it was such a lovely day. I think they turned out pretty cute! The pictures that is, not the kids...OBVIOUSLY the kids are cute! :) Jake is now 3 years old, and Robin 9 months. They both slept SO well last night after being outside in the fresh air all afternoon! Lucky me!

I just love this Halloween card. I figured I could muster up ONE card in time for the season...in between all the Christmas stuff I've been creating! :) This post is short and sweet. Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!!

Yeah!!! It's the 25th of October! (Already!?) That means it's Papertrey Ink Blog Hop time and this month the theme is to create a holiday project.
I decided to use Lauren Meader's Cash or Charge collection template to showcase some gift card holders. I love getting gift cards as a gift, and therefore love giving them as well! This template makes packaging up a gift card easy and decorative- a real treat for the recipient!
This style is the #3 gift card holder once you download the template (only $5!!). Veeeery easy to put together and my favourite of all 3 styles.
Cardstock: Raspberry Fizz, New Leaf, Pure Poppy (Papertrey Ink), blue (Bazzil); pink trees (My Mind's Eye); other (DCWV)
Other: Raspberry Fizz button, Raspberry Fizz satin ribbon, Pure Poppy satin dots ribbon, New Leaf saddle stitch ribbon (Papertrey Ink); twine (misc.); punches (EK Success and Cropadile)

Ssnotime108- Krafty black!

This is for Sharon Johnson's ssnotime108- the challenge was to make a Kraft card and use black as well! I like how this turned out but unfortunately I don't know who made the stamp! It was one of those fabulous finds at the Paper Pickle!!

Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento), Chamomile (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: Kraft, True Black (Papertrey Ink)

It's flu season!

I'll probably be needing lots of these Get Well cards this winter! "Experts" say that the flu bug is going to hit us all hard this year...ggggggreat....! Just what we all need right!? Oh well, stock up on gingerale, soda crackers and cold medicines- I'm off to get my flu shot! :)

Welcome baby, and MY babies!

I'm busy increasing my stash of baby cards...it seems like there was quite a baby BOOM around here a few months ago, and now that it has slowed down I need to replenish! Seriously, I counted 10 babies born in 4 months!! Lots of little ones for my kids to play with.

This baby girl card uses a Kim Hughes set (for Cornish Heritage Farms) and the colour purple, which I see a lot of us in blog-land are afraid of using...haha. Me too! I think I pulled it off this time though...

Stamps: Sweet Love (Cornish Heritage Farms)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento); Heliotrope (Versacolor); Copics; Chamomile (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: Lilac, light green (Bazzil); designer paper (Nana's Nursery- DCWV)
Other: Stickles; ribbon (misc); pearls (Kaisercraft); Nestabilities

Speaking of babies- here is a new picture of MY two babies, although I am sad to say Robin is probably no longer much of a baby...already walking around the coffee table and standing on her own for a few seconds. Walking will be any day now! Why can't they stay little forever?? Jake just turned 3 years old...my little old man! Although when I said that being 3 meant he needed to use the "potty" like a big boy, he said he changed his mind...well that's a man for you!! :) Awww I just love them so much!

Baboo Who? :)

Is this bright or what!!!??? I love it, even though you might need your sunglasses on to look at it. Baboo the Owl (that name cracks me up!) is so quirky. One of my fave Stamping Bella images, even though I don't see him/her used very often. I paired Baboo with Lemonade Basic Grey papers and a sketch from... umm... somewhere.

Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento); Cyan, Indigo (Versacolor); Copics
Paper: Stamper's Select (Papertrey Ink); Lemonade (Basic Grey)

Need a couch day??

I definitely need a couch day, today being Thanksgiving Monday here in Canada. I'm SO stuffed I can barely move and yet I have ONE MORE festivity to go to today.

It was a VERY bright day when I took pictures of these last few cards. I can't seem to get a day that is a happy medium. A photo booth is on my Christmas list... This card uses the same elements as the one in my previous post, I just used the couch instead of the chair, and changed the sentiment.

Happy Thanksgiving Monday to all my Canadian blogging friends!

Stamps: On My Couch, Borders and Corners: Circle (PTI)

Ink: Tuxedo Black (Memento)
Paper: Stamper's Select (PTI); Designer paper (Martha Stewart)

Feel better On My Couch!

I forgot I had some really cool Martha Stewart paper packs lying around and I came across them while purging a few old, old items I never use anymore. Some of the pieces in the 12x12 packs are not my style, but these particular patterned papers I knew would work well for On My Couch! I cut out the circle using my Nestabilities, then stamped my border from Borders & Corners: Circle. The chair was stamped on designer paper, cut out and popped up using dimensionals. Enjoy!!!
Stamps: On My Couch, Borders and Corners: Circle (Papertrey Ink)

Why oh why don't I get my Verve stamps out more often?? I just LOVE them!! This set from Beautiful You complemented these butterflies perfectly. Sorry I've been 'wonky' about posting lately. I am still running on little sleep thanks to Robin, but it's getting better, so I can actually take some time during NAPTIME to post! :) Rest assured, I always take time to check out all of YOUR blogs and beautiful creations! This card measure 3.75" square.

Wishing you Well!!

It's nice how the right patterned paper can really make your card that extra bit of 'special'. That's why I love Papertrey Ink's patterned papers! This was a fast card to do, and that pop of red really does draw your eye in. I don't have the Papertrey Ink Flourishes stamp set, buy my Inkadinkado set came in handy for the same effect!

In other news, my little ones are keeping me SO busy these days! Funny how that happens isn't it? :) Robin is now crawling and is so determined to get into EVERYTHING that we have gone all through the house on our hands and knees to see what kind of trouble is at her eye level! I'm sure we look silly, but it's a must-do. Jake is going to be 3 years old in 2 weeks. I can't believe how grown up he looks- not an ounce of baby left in him!! He said to me today, "Mommy, you are cute." What a little sweetie he is...haha. Maybe he picked that one up from us always telling HIM the same thing??? None the less, it made my day a little brighter. :)

Stamp free for today!

No stamping on this one!! These would be fast to mass produce, so I think I might just go ahead and get started on that! It never hurts to have oh, a hundred or so birthday cards lying around... that's how many I will be making for an up coming craft sale in November. This is how I justify my purchases to my hubby... "See, I'm making MONEY out of it!!" Hmmm, methinks he doesn't believe me. :)

Paper: Stamper's Select, Raspberry Fizz (Papertrey Ink); dp unknown
