Happily Ever After (just not while at the grocery store)

Phewf, it's been a long day, and it isn't over yet...Does anyone else find getting groceries to be the most TEDIOUS job ever? I was lucky enough today to have my husband home from work early, thus being able to go by myself for once and make a quick trip to the store, instead of bringing both children with me. The cashiers actually noticed, and mentioned that I was on my own for once! Maybe it's because Robin is normally screaming at the top of her lungs, while Jake sings at the top of his, all the while usually losing a shoe or two due to his KICKING the cart REPEATEDLY! :) Ahhhh motherhood.

Supplies: *Papertrey Ink, unless otherwise noted*
Cardstock: Kraft, Scarlet Jewel
Ink: Vintage Cream, Scarlet Jewel, Black (Memento)
Stamps: Heart Prints, 2008 Anniversary set
Other: Nestabilities, gems (misc.), foam dimensionals

Window Shopping and CHA!

I looooove Window Shopping. Actually, I prefer to whip out the credit card and buy it for real, but My Favorite Thing's set is a close second. :) I'm busy counting the days until Thursday when my mom and I leave for CHA. Friday night 4-6 we're taking the Designer's Notebook class so if anyone of you is also taking it, drop me a will be SO awesome to meet all of you! Mom is making lanyards for us to wear around our neck (gorgeous beaded ones!), with our badges that say our names, blog addresses and SCS names. We're going to look SNAZZY! I stamped the image and sentiment right on the patterned paper for this one; quick and cool!

Papertrey Ink July Blog Hop!

Wahoo! Another Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!! Soooo excited. Here is this month's challenge:
"I'd like to see your twist on anything text integrated into a fun project! Cut it, punch it, tear it, distress it, paint it, ink it, brayer it, stamp it, stitch it, layer it. Use it as a background, border or a focal point. Use several text styles on one project or just focus on a single look. Try a technique layered on top of text like emboss resist or watercoloring. You could even run it through an embossing folder."

Soooo- here is MY card for the challenge. There are no fancy details to this one. Pretty straightforward, and it could be used for any occasion. My only downfall...I ran out of Lemon Tart cardstock and had to use Bazzil for the yellow bird, but everything else is Papertrey Ink! :) In case I have to shout it out loud to you the text is the Cuttlebug embossed background :) :) Have a great night everyone and I can't wait to see all your projects!

Cardstock: Ripe Avocado, Vintage Cream, Summer Sunrise (PTI); Yellow (Bazzil)
Ink: Ripe Avocado (PTI)
Other: Bird die cut (Sizzix); Scarlet Jewel button, Scarlet Jewel ribbon (PTI); Pearls (Kaiser); Embossing folder (Cuttlebug/Provocraft); Ticket punch (SU!)

Window Shopping again!!

Another card using Window Shopping by My Favorite Things and Basic Grey's Lemonade papers. This one measures 5.25" square. I paper pieced most of the image (which was time consuming!) and used my Copics for the rest. A little glitter here and there and done! :)

One week from today I'll be at the CHA trade show...the countdown is on! :)

Cardstock: Stamper's Select (PTI)

When it pours!

Of course, the hard drive in my computer crashed and we need to get a new computer entirely (what's on our old hard drive is recoverable thank goodness!), on top of a $$ dental bill (who knew a cavity cost that much...get brushing!!) and now I need a new dishwasher!! (NO WAY will I ever go back to hand washing dishes!).

But have I ever ONCE thought about saving money and reconsider going to Florida for CHA???? NOOOOOOOO!!!!! :) :) Are you kidding me!? Oh yeah, did I mention I'm going to Florida for CHA? My mom and I are leaving the 30th and taking a few classes, as well as hopefully meeting a bunch of fellow stampers. I'm beyond excited! Mom is one of the Dirty Dozen over on SCS, so I hope she drags me along and introduces me to what I consider 'stamping royalty' :)
On to the card...I love it! A little offbeat and funky compared to what I usually make. I showed it to my hubby and he kinda turned up his nose, so I"m not sure what THAT means...haha.
Stamps: Window Shopping by My Favorite Things
Paper: Basic Grey Sultry 6x6 paper pack

Who loves you?

What a busy week and weekend!! First it was my birthday (28, not so old YET!), then we had my best friend and her husband down for the weekend and went to see Tim McGraw in concert....soooo much fun!! I love that my mom is a crafter as well...she always gives birthday presents like SHE would want to get- so I received from her and my dad (well, really just her, dad had no clue) Papertrey Ink's Vintage Picnic and Trademarks!!! What an AWESOME gift!! Also, a SU! border punch, and some other 'essentials' like glue dots, foam dots and glue...ahhhh, I loved my birthday! :)

Here's a quick card- still no editing program. Soon....

Family pictures!

Yep...still here on hubby's more card pictures. So, I'll show the kiddies instead :) These are from Canada Day little sweeties! Jake makes the silliest faces now when posing for have to catch him in a sincere moment to get an actual smile out of him. I love the satisfied look on Robin's face after she finished eating...she loves her food!!

Believe me, once I have MY computer and editing program back, I'll have sooo many cards to share! I've been busy!!

Lacy wedding

I'm still on my hubby's laptop, so once again, excuse the lack of editing...I've been promised it will be back soon- with our hard drive intact thank goodness!!!

I was a wedding card kick these past few days...a friend came over 2 days in a row for help in making some personalized cards for her bridal party, and all her wedding chatter put me into a romantic mood. Okay, not really, but I was inspired to create some wedding cards! :) I found this GORGEOUS Basic Grey lace paper at my LSS and decided to cut it up and use it as a bottom trim, and as a frame for my sentiment. I like how it turned out, although it is a bit fussy to try and glue down.

Cardstock: Vintage Cream (PTI), Basic Grey Porcelain DP, Basic Grey lace paper
Stamps: Sentiment from Wedding Centres (CHF), Pretty Pattern backgrounder (CHF)
Ink: Versamagic Wheat, Adirondack Mushroom

To have & to hold

I took a chance and uploaded a few pics onto my husband's laptop, but he doesn't have any editing software, so you're getting this card "as is." No fancy brightening or cropping, sorry!

I finally used my Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist....ummm...LOVE IT!! I embossed the heart image, used Art Glitter for the centre heart and sprayed the Glimmer Mist over top. I like the result!

Kicking the computer...

My computer is I'm on my husband's laptop...and he doesn't have any of my cards on here of course (imagine that!). So, it will unfortunately be a few days before I get a card or two on here. That gives me lots of time to make some though!! :) See you soon!!!

Happy Canada Day!

I told you I liked this set! :) This quick card to put together uses all the same ingredients as the one on this post. I only differed the layout- using SC233, and added Art Glitter to the spikes. I hope everyone enjoys their Canada Day!
