A simply fabulous...vacation!

Ahhh, the wonderfully hot, lazy, summer days! It's vacation time for our family and I'm hoping that as you read this post I am sunning myself on a sandy beach sipping a cold drink! In reality though, I'm probably going crazy trying to stop Robin from eating sand, making sure Jake has enough sunscreen on, and chasing after my ever active nephew Ben!! :) Three whole families packed tight into one tiny little know what...I love it!!!

So is this a birthday card, wedding card or something else?? :) Who knows- I guess that is what makes Signature Greetings so versatile! You can use a lot of those sentiments for ANY occasion!

Every artist...

How easy was this card to create?! I love the Paper Pickle Co. in Chatham, ON. Everywhere you go in that gorgeous store there are stamps, stamps, and more stamps. AND their card samples are the greatest source for inspiration. I saw one displayed that I knew I wanted to try and duplicate, so here is my effort. I just love this Unity set- so meaningful and delightful!

Stamps: The Artist in You (Unity Stamp Company)
Ink: Smokey Shadow, Raspberry Fizz (Papertrey Ink)

Around Town Tote for Teacher!

My son's daycare teacher had her last day of teaching last week due to her going off for shoulder surgery, and I wanted to give her something to show her that we love her!

I used one of the fabulous Papertrey Ink templates- the Around Town Tote and filled it with some bath soaps, shower gels, nail polish and other pretty things...stuff she can use to pamper herself while she is recovering.

I can't get enough of that gorgeous American Crafts ribbon- isn't it just DIVINE?! Oh wow!! It paired so nicely with the Ooh La La for Her papers by My Mind's Eye.

New Home

I love when I remember it's 'okay' to stamp right on the patterned paper, and I don't really have to stamp on white or cream paper... :) That's perfect for when you don't want to cover up that pretty designer paper you have been dying to use! That flower in the bottom left corner is just a few punched circles all put together- easy and matches my card wonderfully!

Happy Birthday to...ME! :)

Yep- I'm the big ol' 2-9 this year. Not very old, right? RIGHT!? :) My morning started off just fabulous with my sweetie-pie Jake running into our bedroom bright and early yelling "HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOMMY!" There is no better present than that. ..then he informed me that Daddy bought me a vacuum for my birthday....excuse me!? WHAT!? :) Luckily that is only what my hubby told him so he wouldn't spoil the real secret which is a fancy, schmany new coffee maker (this momma LOVES her morning cuppa joe). Just as nice- a big, wet sloppy kiss from 18 month old Robin. Awwww!

While this birthday card isn't really for me, it is a card to celebrate somebody's birthday!

Joyful Smiles

Scrapbooking?? Me? Oh yes... I just can't seem to stop using my very first kit from Noel Mignon...the Playdate kit!! I'm determined to use it up before I crack open my next one...the Sun-kissed kit. :) The only part of this page that I reached elsewhere for was the chocolaty brown cardstock, and my scalloped border punch. Everything else was included in this FABULOUS kit. Pair it with a sketch by Jana Eubanks and I was set!!

Psalm 31: 24

The Plain Jane stamps from Verve Visual are simple, elegant and incredibly touching. What a beautiful way to make your message meaningful for someone who needs a boost during a time of need. I like to keep sympathy cards basic without many frills, but lots of class so I'm hoping I captured that with this one. I let the patterned paper do the work for me, with that lovely sentiment adding just the right touch! Sympathy cards are always hard to make, but you need them don't you!?

Stamps: Psalm 31:24 (Verve Visual)
Ink: Dark Chocolate, Chamomile (PTI)
Paper: white, Kraft (PTI); Wisteria 6x6 paper pack (Basic Grey)
Other: Scalloped Rectangle punch (Marvy); sheer ribbon (The Paper Pickle); pearls (Kaisercraft)

No stamping!? What!? I guess that's okay every once in awhile... :) I'm telling ya, all those fabulous Basic Grey accessories make it SO easy to whip up a card...die cuts *check* patterned paper *check* brads *check* and....DONE! :) Well, maybe there was a little more "oomph" than that. Have a great weekend everyone, and all my American blogging buddies- enjoy your holiday weekend, and I'll be watching some fantastic 4th of July fireworks myself on Sunday night! (Perks of living close to the Canada/U.S. border!)

Paper: True Black (PTI); pale blue (Bazzil); Cappella 6x6 designer paper (Basic Grey)

Thanks for the Canada Day fun!

I hope all my Canadian blogging friends had an amazing Canada Day. Our family of course ate waaay too much at a barbecue, laughed so much at all the crazy antics of the kids (and some big kids too), and came home tired, but happy!

We are lucky to live so close to the Michigan border that we usually get the chance to catch the July 4th fireworks in addition to our July 1st fireworks! That's the plan this Sunday, dinner out with the hubs and then fireworks on the dock over the water at my aunt and uncle's house. Fun for all!!
It's always good to have a few thank you cards on hand!! Everyday Button Bits is so fun to work with- when I'm working with a card that I know I'm going to mail out and don't want the "bulk" of buttons, I just substitute a punched circle instead! Love it!

Stamps: Mega Mixed Messages, Everyday Button Bits (PTI)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Chamomile (PTI); Copics
Paper: Pure Poppy, Vintage Cream (PTI); Cherry Hill collection (October Afternoon)
Other: Pure Poppy buttons (PTI); circle punch, scalloped circle punch (Marvy); felt flower (Making Memories); Origins brad (Basic Grey)

Not so square- Some Odd Girl challenge day!

It's challenge day at Some Odd Girl!!! Bust out those 'odd' shapes and leave your four corners behind, because you need to make a card in a non-square/rectangular shape!! Can you believe there were a whoppin' 35 entries for our shimmer and shine challenge??!! WOW!! Thanks to everyone who entered a project!

I personally pulled out every single Spellbinder die I owned that DIDN'T have "corners" and tried it out to see what I liked best...and wouldn't ya know it I settled for a boring ol' circle! BUT- it's not so boring when paired with the lovely Gala is it!? This sweet, delicious digi is from our latest release and I lllllooove it.

Stamps: Gala digi (Some Odd Girl); Teacher's Apple (PTI)
Ink: Dark Chocolate, Hawaiian Shores, Chai (PTI); Copics, Spica glitter markers (Copic)
Paper: Fly a Kite collection (October Afternoon); white (PTI)
Other: ribbon (misc. from the Paper Pickle); Scalloped circle and plain circle Nestabilities (Spellbinders); scalloped rectangle punch (Marvy); Pebble embellishment (Prima)
