Celebrate your day!

Another simple and stylish card using my new 'fave'- the Martha Stewart butterfly punch. This basic layout has so many possibilities for colour combos making it easy to change up the occasion. A few days ago I showed a baby card with the same layout and punch. That post will link you to my inspiration for this card! I hope everyone had a FABULOUS Canadian holiday weekend everyone! We celebrated with lots of family fun and a fishing derby!

All Thing Unity has another challenge up and this time it's to use a stamp that hasn't been inked up yet! Well, I've definitely used my October 2009 Kit of the Month several times, but never this particular stamp in it! I hope that counts... Go check out ATU#31 and pull out those Unity or Ippity stamps that haven't been used yet! Yes, I realize there is a PTI stamp in the background...just ignore it! :) I also made this card for the Paper Crafts Card-A-Day magazine call, but it wasn't accepted. No worries though- another card of my WAS!!! !

Wee Henry!

Wee Henry reminds me of my son and his growing love of summer and all things "beach". All he can talk about is going to the cottage this summer and swimming in the ocean (um, it's a lake...but he's 4, so it's still cute, at least until he starts failing geography...). I coloured this Wee Henry Snorkel digital image with Copic markers and let him take center stage to a stamped background and summery sentiment. Wee Henry is from Hambo Stamps...have a great day everyone and let Wee Henry inspire you to dream about summer!!

Stamps: Wee Henry Snorkel (Hambo Stamps); Polka Dot Basics II (Papertrey Ink); sentiment (My Favorite Things)
Ink: True Black, Pure Poppy, Lemon Tart, Spring Rain, Simply Chartreuse, Orange Zest (Papertrey Ink); Copic markers
Cardstock: White, Summer Sunrise (Papertrey Ink)
Other: gems (Zva)

Is spring FINALLY here?!

I feel like if I say it too loud it might not be true, but is Spring finally really here!? I sure hope so...I certainly don't mind the ocassional rain shower, but it seems like we have had the soggiest few weeks ever, and now that the sun has been out shining I can't get enough of it! It just makes me want to get out and garden. :)

Here's a 'scrappy' kind of card- lots of layering, etc. I was inspired from one of the fabulous special Paper Crafts magazine issues. Looooove that inspiration!

Go now...

I struggle with masculine cards, but this rub-on from Basic Grey was screaming to be paired with papers from the Social Club collection and before I knew it, *gasp* I'd created a card for a man! Who knew it was that easy!? :) I used my regular ol' scissors to trim the fringe and everything else is pretty straight forward... Enjoy your day- it's sunshiney and bright here!!

Ink: Chamomile (Papertrey Ink)
Cardstock: Ocean Tides, white (Papertrey Ink)
Patterned Paper: Social Club collection (Cosmo Cricket)

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to you all! Since my husband left this morning for a business trip, we considered yesterday to be my official Mother's Day. A big family breakfast, the morning at one of my favourite scrapbooking stores to celebrate National Scrapbooking Day, and then off for supper and a date night with my hubby! All in all, a great day and today I'm running around after my little ones as usual. :)

The sun in shining and it's just a gorgeous day out...soooo lucky! Here are my two munchkins admiring a lone red tulip amidst what will bloom into Tiger Lilies in a month or so.

Here's one of a few Mother's Day cards that I made to celebrate the big day. I'm lucky enough to have 2 mother-in-laws AND my own mom who is also a cardmaker, so I was under pressure to get creating! :)

Stamps: Because of You (Verve Stamps); Floral backgrounder (Cornish Heritage Farms)
Ink: True Black, Chai, Berry Sorbet (Papertrey Ink)
Cardstock: Stamper's Select white, Berry Sorbet, Sweet Blush
Patterned Paper: Everyday Blessings (Papertrey Ink)

This Tia was a special release for Some Odd Girl and isn't available (yet, or at all, not sure!) for sale. She sure does look happy, doesn't she! What a great birthday card for a little gal excited to celebrate her big day!

I followed a sketch from the latest Go-To Sketches magazine call from Paper Crafts for this card- I believe it will be out sometime this summer (*ahem, I'll have a card in it!!*).
I LOVE sketches. They just take all the work out of it and leave the fun stuff for you to figure out. :) I used my finger to rub the black ink around the edges of the sentiment panel, giving it a softer, smokier look.

Apparently I was too abstract on this card, because my hubby couldn't figure out what HB2U meant. *sigh* Boys can be silly sometimes!

Ink: Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)
Cardstock: True Black (Papertrey Ink)
Patterned Paper: Olivia collection (Basic Grey)
Other: Thickers (American Crafts); Scalloped border punch (SU!)
