Celebrate your day!

I'm currently off celebrating at a bachelorette weekend with a close family friend (her sister is my oldest and dearest friend) so this is pre-posted.  I really hope that I'm still in one piece when I get home; it's been awhile since I've been away on a girls' weekend so it should be LOTS of fun!!
I made this for a bridal shower...lots of those happening around here lately! I paper pieced the roses from the Roses in Bloom set by Waltzingmouse Stamps, and cut them out and popped them up.  Most of the rest is self-explanatory!

Stamps: Signature Greetings (Papertrey Ink); Roses in Bloom (Waltzingmouse Stamps)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko)
Paper: White (Papertrey Ink); For the Record collection (Echo Park)
Other: Crystal flourish, gems (Kaisercraft)

Happy Wednesday to you all! We're asking you to be a REBEL (that's the name of this cute digi!) and show us some stitching- real, hand or faux this week for the weekly Hambo Hoedown challenge.  Pop on over to the challenge blog and see what the other design team members have created to show you this week.  Go ahead and use any Hambo image in your creation; we can't wait to see what you make!
I coloured my guy up as an 'older' gentleman and he kind of reminds me of those people who put on the war reenactments for the public. :) I DO NOT own a sewing maching and wouldn't know how to use one if I did, so I went with faux stitching on my card. I used a paper piercer to make the holes, then a brown Zig marker to draw the lines.

Stamps: Rebel-digi (Hambo Stamps)
Ink: Copic markers; Chamomile (Papertrey Ink); brown marker (Zig)
Paper: white (Papertrey Ink); For the Record collection (Echo Park)
Other: paper piercer (Making Memories); Oval punch (Marvy); 1/4" circle punch (SU!)

Bridal Shower best wishes!

I attended a lovely bridal shower Sunday afternoon for a family friend and neighbour and was asked to create a card for her by another guest.  The wedding colours are navy and silver and so I tried to keep that as the focal point of the card.  I used quite a few dies on this one, keeping that Grand Calibur just a spinning!! The Aqua Mist was something thrown in for an extra touch of colour and it helped to draw the colours from the flower centre all together with the rest of the card. Vellum isn't something I use very often on a card, but it gave this one a softer look that I enjoyed.

Have a FABULOUS day everyone and thanks for stopping by!

Stamps: CHA 2010 limited edition set (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: Enchanted Evening (Papertrey Ink)

It doesn't really get any easier than slapping a piece of chipboard on patterned paper, stamping the sentiment, and calling it a card, does it? :) Okay, maybe it wasn't THAT easy, but pretty close.  I just adore the sweet, sweet papers and accessories in the Emma's Shoppe collection by Crate Paper.  They are feminine, vintage and flowery- all my favourites! This cute carousel horse jumped right out at me from the pile and *neighed* to be used.  My grandfather built a small model of a carousel and now that he has passed away, it is in my grandma's basement and I love turning it on when I visit and watching it go around and around.:) Happy memories!

Stamps: Birthday Greetings (Hero Arts)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Chamomile (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: Berry Sorbet (Papertrey Ink); Emma's Shoppe collection (Crate Paper)

Thanks Teacher!

I HAVE been creating, I just haven't gotten around to taking pictures of my creations, so I'm pulling an oldie
out of the files.  This is a teacher's thank-you card that I made for the end of the school year in June.  I used papers from the 100 Days of Summer collection by Simple Stories, and paper pieced the outlined apple from the Teacher's Apple set with it.  I hope you are all staying cool on this hot, hot, hot day! (Did I mention it was HOT!!?) Holy moly, I am SO glad we have central air in our house otherwise I'd melt... :)

Flu Bug?

If you're going to play along in this week's Hambo Hoedown, grab your favourite Hambo image and get busy creating a MONOCHROMATIC card.  I enjoyed this challenge a lot because it had me reaching for a colour I don't use a whole lot- GREEN.  My MOSQUITO- digi is all glittery IRL, but the lighting just didn't quite catch it.  I used paper from Basic Grey's Sweet Threads collection, paired with a tag from the same line.  The alphabet stickers are Cosmo Cricket.  It's time now for you to head on over to the Hoedown blog and get all those nitty gritty details for the challenge so you can play along too!

Stamps: Mosquito-digi (Hambo)
Ink: Copic markers, Spica glitter marker (Copic); Chamomile (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: white, Spring Moss (Papertrey Ink); Sweet Threads collection (Basic Grey)
Other: pearls (Kaisercraft); ribbon (misc.); tag from Sweet Threads (Basic Grey); alphabet stickers (Cosmo Cricket); foam dimensionals

You Did It!

This was one of the cards I created for the Paper Crafts Gallery Idol contest.  Congratulations was the theme and I had fun making a few generic 'congrats' cards to add to my stash.  Never hurts to have a few of those!!

I don't have much energy for chatting 30th birthday was yesterday and I threw myself a party to celebrate. :) Family, friends, burgers, hot dogs and a good helping of adult beverages made for a long, happy, fun night.  Needless to say, I feel very old today and need to go have a nap, haha.

Paper: White (Papertrey Ink); butterfly/fuchsia (Little Yellow Bicycle); blue patterned (unknown)

Happy Hoedown!

Happy Hoedown day! Head on over to the Hambo Hoedown blog and see what the other design team members have come up with this week to knock your socks off!.  I love these weekly challenges and the best part is if you play along using a Hambo image you get a FREE image to play with the NEXT week!!!  Don't forget to head over to the challenge blog and read the specific details about that...

The design team all used STEAMROLLER- digi and made a gate-fold card. This was my first time making a gate-fold card and I no idea it was easy! So THAT'S what those two tiny dots are for on my Scor-Pal... I used papers from the Little Boy collection by Echo Park and printed the digi off twice, once on patterned paper, so I could paper piece the wheels.

Stamps: Steamroller- digi (Hambo Stamps)
Ink: Copic markers
Paper: Pure Poppy, New Leaf, white (Papertrey Ink); Little Boy collection (Echo Park)
Other: Stickers from Little Boy collection (Echo Park); gems (Kaisercraft)

Birthday Bingo!

I love the summer and those weekends where all the grandmas agree to each take a child overnight so the hubby and I can take in a fun concert and stay overnight....*sigh* bliss! Seriously, that never happens, so lucky me for tonight! We're going to Bayfest in Sarnia to see the Tragically Hip!

I haven't been crafting much lately; too busy with life (in a good way!) so I'm pulling a card out of the files that I made a few weeks ago.  Yes, another 100 Days of Summer card, this time using one of the fabulous bingo cards that come as 4 on a 12x12 sheet.  I just trimmed this one so it would fit on a A2 sized card and added a few other details. Easy peasy!

Stamps: Birthday Greetings (Hero Arts)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Chamomile (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: Smokey Shadow, Harvest Gold (Papertrey Ink); black (Bazzil)

Birdie Banner

This was one of 3 cards I submitted for the Paper Crafts Gallery Idol competition, and as you've probably seen by now, this was not one of the winners...haha.  Oh, but I think it's soooo cute, don't you?! :)  I created it more for a gender neutral baby congrats theme, but it could be used for anything really.  A super easy, one layer card where I paper pieced the banner with some patterned paper that had a soft design so that I could stamp the sentiment right over top. A little Copic colouring completed the card! Thanks for stopping by today!

Stamps: Birdie Banner (Your Next Stamp)
Ink: Tuxedo Black (Tsukineko); Copic markers
Paper: Vintage Cream, designer paper from Everyday Blessings collection (Papertrey Ink)

Enjoy summer...shouldn't we all be doing that? I am that's for sure.  My family and I enjoyed  a lovely holiday weekend.  Being very close to the Michigan border allows us to watch the Fourth of July fireworks as well as our own Canada Day ones...lucky us!!
Here's another card done using the 100 Days of Summer collection by Simple Stories.  I loooove it.  (You MAY have heard me say that before...) Okay, back now??? :) For my first challenge duty, I was to follow a RECIPE. ONE image, TWO designer papers, and THREE embellishments.  This was my first time working with an à la mode image from My Favorite Things, and I found this gal SO darn cute to work with.  Easy to colour AND paper piece- so that's just what I did. My papers are from the Modern Homemaker collection by October Afternoon, and the three embellishments I chose were the flower, the crystal flourish and the Glimmer Mist.  All of those particular 'ingredients' can be found in the One Crazy Stamper store!!

Stamps: What's Cooking? (My Favorite Things)

Cardstock: Vintage Cream, Pure Poppy  (Papertrey Ink)
