Feather obsession

Feathers, feathers, feathers everywhere! I love all the feathered products still on the shelves in the craft world. In April I blogged about my love for feathers (daughter of a chicken farmer here!), and now it seems there are even more feathered products out there! Some I love:

I used another feathery product in my card today- Kelly Purkey's Feathers die; loooooove it! Paired with a fun handwritten sentiment this card is minimal yet packs a pretty punch.  I die cut the feathers from patterned paper, popped them up on my cardstock base, and heat embossed the sentiment. The combinations are endless...use any sentiment and patterned papers you want!
This card is being linked up for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge blog- Anything Goes this week! I've used a few SSS exclusives on this card; enjoy!

I believe

I am still crazy about water coloring! I just can't seem to put down those Distress Markers and watercolor paper...any one else jumped on the bandwagon? This cheerful, inspirational stamp from Unity Stamp Co. pairs perfectly with a clean and simple layout and colourful background. Embossing the sentiment in white really helps the watercolors to stand out.

I've hit craft supply pay dirt last week... My LSS had a scrapbook garage sale where vendors could sell their gently used/unwanted supplies and any money earned would be given store credit in return.  A phone call to the store after the sale told me I earned $163- which I was quite pleased with UNTIL... I went to the store to pick up my gift card and they told me they had mistakenly read me the wrong amount and I actually earned $315!!! Whhhhaaaattt?!  Sooooo awesome! This lady is going to get herself more Distress Markers lol! :)

Gruesome and Gory

Tis' the season for ghosts, goblins, and thoughts of candy at our house.  Halloween is approaching and although we don't put too much thought into around here, our family does like to carve the usual pumpkins and put up a few decorations. I made a few cards for the occasion and my 7 year old son commented that this one was, "awesome and gross" so I'll take that as a compliment!  The 'blood splatter' maybe takes it a bit to the gruesome and gory side but oh well. :)

Sorry for the wonky picture...even my light box has it's 'off days'. I think it's because I have it sitting next to a window and the natural light brightens it too much additionally. Thoughts?

The card is pretty basic. Cardstock base and panel sprayed with color mist, bats and RIP cut from my Slice machine in POW glitter paper, and the grave from a Papertrey Ink die.

Hello December!

It's officially time for me to sit down and start Christmas crafting.  SO many gorgeous holiday products have hit the shelves and I can't wait any longer to use them!

This Hello December collection by Glitz Design knocks my socks off- I just adore it. So trendy and fun. The stickers, papers, and die cuts all lend themselves perfectly to being paired with a wood paper card base.  The cherry wood paper cuts and folds easily and has a nice finish. I'm entering this card in the Metal, Wood, & Cork Challenge in the Moxie Fab World.

Neat & Tangled

Sometimes you are lucky enough to win a crafty prize that is just so awesome that you want to never put your acrylic block and inks away!
Last month I won this cool Just For You stamp set from Neat & Tangled and I have been busy stamping away with it. The font is perfect, the balloons are easy to mask, and all the fun 'extras' like the confetti make the possibilities endless.  Thanks SO much to Neat & Tangled for (randomly) picking me!! :)
Run out and get yourself some of these fun stamp sets...I have my eyes on the Kindness Matters and Simple Christmas sets, as well as the Winter Wonderland sequin mix for my next crafty purchase.
