Little Baby, Big Love

Little baby, big love just about says it all. I'm in the need for many baby cards as there seems to have been a population explosion around here.  I love snuggling on a new little one...and then giving him or her back to his momma. :) No more babies around here and that's just fine with me!

Here I have created an *almost* one layer card (ok, it has 3 layers, but it's still flat- that counts!) that is for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge. This week the focus is on clean and simple, and they're spotlighting Hero Arts products.  My clean and simple comes into play with just a basic background stamp, embossed sentiment and only a few embellishments.
I stamped the Five Lines background with a reeeeeeally pale ink that still allowed me to see the faint lines on the white cardstock. Then I used markers to colour in the lines. You can see the parts where I lost patience and wasn't too neat and tidy...oops. :)  Everything else is pretty straightforward.
Thanks for stopping in and have a GREAT day. Don't forget to check out all the other fun creations linking up this week over on the SSS challenge post!

Supplies: (little baby/Hero Arts) (pearls/Kaisercraft) (notecard/Craft Smith)

ME- Photo Inspiration challenge

Happy Saturday to you all! I hope the weekend is treating you well.  It is one of those rare, laaaaazy Saturdays around here; no big plans or things to do, just relaxing!  That gives this lady the opportunity to get some blog posts ready to go for the next week.  I'm having lots of fun lately creating and linking up to challenges out there in the cardmaking blog-land.
One of those challenges is the Mama Elephant Photo Inspiration Challenge. I love the soft, serene, beachy look of this picture. I envisioned a ocean colour scheme, a watery look, and some transparent elements.
I'm happy with the end result. :) I used the rough side of some Ranger water color paper and blobbed on (that's a technical term- blobbed) some Distress Inks. Once dry, I embossed my sentiment, added some Clear Wink of Stella and drops of Glossy Accents. There's a few gold-ish enamel dots thrown in for fun.
Pop on over and check out the rest of the links for the photo challenge. There's some beautiful inspiration there!

Keep On Rockin'

So many songs come to mind when I see this card... I do love a good rock tune.  Give me a good ol' 80's hair band any day! I'm a sucker for a guitar solo. Might as well turn off the country station unless it's old time country like Johnny, Waylon or good ol' Merle.
This ended up being a nice, flat card easy for mailing. I stamped the Avery Elle images and matching words in black ink and coloured them in with Copics. The Mama Elephant sentiment was stamped and heat embossed.  Since InLinkz is being wonky while the new and fabulous Simon Says Stamp website is still working out a few glitches I'll just do a product list at the bottom of the post.
Thanks for stopping in today and in the words of the Steve Miller Band, Keep on Rock N'Me!!
(clear stamps: We Go Together/Avery Elle; Say What/Mama Elephant) (patterned paper: Printshop/Studio Calico) (cardstock: white/Simon Says Stamp) (markers: Copic; Wink of Stella/Zig) (embossing: Versamark/Tsukineko; red embossing powder/American Crafts)

My Favorite Things Get Sketchy- 172

I am a woman who loves a good to-do list, checklist, day planner, list of rules, blueprints, etc. I promise I don't follow the rules *all* the time.  I DO like to kick back and relax quite often, but for card making purposes today I happily followed a sketch. The work is half done for me!

Bold Statements by My Favorite Things paired with Sketch 172 was a perfect match for this card.  Lots of patterned paper, some Glossy Accents on that sentiment, a few extra ink splatters (watered down Pale Tomato ink) and sparkly hearts.
I hope everyone enjoyed their Easter weekend and thanks for stopping in!

LOTS of Easter stamping!

Just popping in on this sunny Saturday to wish you all a Happy Easter! Whether you go to church, hunt for Easter eggs, or do a combination of both or none at all, I hope your weekend is spent with family and friends like ours will be!

I spent a nice part of yesterday morning in my corner stamping happily and came up with the above creation. It's a lot more involved than I usually get for my cards, but I just love the end result. The fact that I can stamp that beautiful floral arrangement and add any colour combo in flowers just delights me.  This card went to my grandma and grandpa yesterday since they hosted a lovely family get-together.  I'm going to keep this Avery Elle set out on my desk so I can use it again and again!

Happy Easter everyone!
