Bejewelled Breakfast

See those beautifully manicured, stylish hands adorned with bling and eating a dainty breakfast? That's me in the picture!! Nope. Not one bit. Maybe if the inspiration picture showed fuzzy housecoat sleeves, coffee spills and crumbs. :) Even if it's not me in the picture, it's still a gorgeous inspiration piece so I'm playing along with Cure for the Monday Blues #32.

For this one layer card I used a white card base and a soft pink ink, with touches of silver and gold embossing. I masked the bottom of the card off to easily emboss the strip across the bottom. The small floral arrangement inspired me to use Avery Elle's Thanks a Bunch stamp set.

Thanks for stopping in today!

CAS-ual Fridays and Add a Little Dazzle Blog Hop Day 5!

I'm back again for the last day of the CAS-ual Fridays and Add a Little Dazzle blog hop!  Be sure to leave a comment on each blog on the hop for a chance to win some amazing prizes!

For my first card I went the traditional Christmas route and stamped the poem and boughs from Pinecones right on the cardstock. Then I stamped and fussy cut the pinecones and adhered them. I die cut the 4 Petal Set Fri-Dies using a Scarlet Red metal sheet, and added some red metal to the bottom of the card too. That red metal sheet is just sooooo perfect for Christmas projects. Love love love!

My next card uses Casual Elegance paired with the metal sheets. I stamped the vines and sentiment, coloured in portions of the vines, then added metallic splatter from my Wink of Stella marker. Then I die cut the Casual Vines Fri-Dies using three different colours of metal and tied them together with some silver thread before adhering them to the cardstock.

I hope you've enjoyed my two final cards for the hop. The metal sheets are a really unique product that adds a lot of "wow" factor to your projects...and CAS-ual Fridays Stamps? You already know I love them!

CAS-ual Fridays and Add a Little Dazzle Blog Hop and Giveaway!

Welcome to Day 2 of the CAS-ual Fridays Stamps and Add a Little Dazzle blog hop! I love working with CAS-ual Fridays Stamps & Fri-Dies and can't wait to show you how I paired them up with these fun metallic sheets from Add a Little Dazzle. For this blog hop, be sure to leave a comment on each blog on each day of the hop for a chance to win some amazing prizes!

If you came here from Cathy's blog you're on the right track! If you'd like to start at the beginning pop on over to the CAS-ual Fridays blog.  You'll see the full line-up at the bottom of today's post.

I reeeeealllly hope you're thinking that looks like a bomb because that's what I was going for...just humour me if you don't get it. ;)

The "bomb" was cut using the Funky Round Tag Fri-Dies and a Black Diamond metal sheet; the strip along the bottom is Perfect Peacock and the twisty pieces exploding from the bomb are Perfect Peacock, Ocean Blue, Wondrous White and Polished Purple. What I like about these metal sheets is that they are thin enough to die cut easily and they bend and twist as needed. All I needed to do for the twisty pieces was cut a thin strip and wind it around a pencil. The background and sentiment come from the Exclamations set.

Thanks for checking out my project today...I have one more card to show later this week using more metal sheets so come back. Don't forget to check out the CAS-ual Fridays blog all week because there is a new hop each day with loads of inspiration.

Enjoy the hop!

I love donuts

It's the weekend folks! Woot woot! I'm getting in some quality crafting time and as of right now, my children are upstairs playing together and I have not heard any screams of terror or arguing in 15 minutes. It's possible they have destroyed their bedrooms but at least they're doing it together. :)

My card today is going in two different challenges; first, the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge which is "O is for..." I took my donuts (or doughnuts as us Canadians spell it) to be the letter 'o' and lined up three of them across the card. The second challenge is CASology Week 117: CANDY and I think the sprinkles and icing on the doughnuts count! Some Glossy Accents and sequins finish the card off perfectly.

Thanks for stopping in today and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Spring Chicken in Autumn

I have an affinity for chickens seeing as I grew up the daughter of egg producers. I like my eggs cooked anyway you make them, I have chicken drumsticks in the crockpot for supper, and although you would never guess it, I find it hard to pass up any sort of decor with chickens on it. Weird I know. When I saw the Birthday Farm Animals set by Simon Says Stamp, I knew I was going to buy it based on the chicken alone. SO cute. Love love love!

I'm linking up to Virginia's View Challenge Clean and Simple this month with a barely a day to squeak in before the deadline. Nothing like leaving it to the last minute. Confession: I was convinced I'd linked up an earlier card but I guess not. Oh well. So here goes again!

I stamped and embossed the chicken image in white, then used my Distress Markers to watercolor her (she's a girl).  After that the rest was easy peasy!  Use your time wisely and head on over to see the rest of the links for some amazing clean and simple inspiration. There are some amazing creations there!
