Create Together with Veronica Zalis

My Create Together guest this week is a sweet, funny friend who any day now is expecting a bundle of joy! You can check out my last collaboration with Veronica Zalis from So Many Stamps, So Little Time here.  With her due date creeping closer, we decided to use baby cards as our theme for creating.

I made a similar pair of cards for both a boy and girl baby using some product from My Favorite Things, and cute stickers from Echo Park. The Jumbo Dot Cover-Up was die cut from white cardstock and layered over patterned paper from my stash. The Stitched Mini Scalloped Circle highlights the sentiment from Essential Sentiments and the whale sticker. A few silver sequins finish it off.

Thanks so much to Veronica for creating with me this week! Let's all send her lots of love and happy wishes for when baby gets here. :) Have a great day!

I love a sentiment stamp that makes me chuckle. Cardmaking is fun, sending out cards to friends are fun, and creating with fun product is fun too, right? It's all about FUN this week for the CASology Week 212 challenge and I'm playing along.

I shared this card awhile ago on Instagram but haven't blogged it yet...I figured I should link it up since it seems to fit the fun/funny theme perfectly. :) After blending some pretty dye inks from Simon Says Stamp on the white card base, I stamped the wine glasses and sentiment over top. Easy peasy!

Thanks for stopping in today. I know things have been slow around here but kids are back in school soon and the Inspired By challenge will be starting back up so I'll be here more often.

August Waffle Flower Crafts challenge

Welcome back for another Monday of the Waffle Flower Crafts challenge team sharing some fun creations! The challenge runs until the 25th of each month so you have lots of time to play along. Join us by linking your creation up here! We can't wait to see it.

When I first saw the August inspiration it brought to mind washed out watercolours and jars of flowers. I loved the vases along the mantel and knew I could do something with that. :)

After painting a soft watercoloured background for my card base, I stamped my sentiment from Lacy Flower stamp set. On a separate piece of watercolour paper I stamped the flower from Leafy stamp set, the the jar from Good Stuff, and watercoloured both using Distress Inks then fussy cut them out. The jar is popped up with foam adhesive and a few sequins finish it off.

Head on over to see the rest of the team's fabulous creations this week and don't forget to play along with us! You have until August 25th.

Celebrating Concord & 9th!

Nothing is better than a birthday bash, and since Concord & 9th just celebrated their first one I thought I'd pull out a few of my favourites and play along with their celebrations!

I made some fun friendship cards in two completely different styles.
First up is a bright and bold, retro themed card using Love You Mean It for my background. I stamped various elements in black, then coloured it all in with my Copic markers. The white embossed sentiment is from Crazy Awesome. Everything is adhered with foam tape for dimension.

Next up is a pretty watercoloured creation using the flower from You Are Enough. I stamped it lightly in Antique Linen Distress ink to give me a reference so I could watercolour slightly outside the lines of it in kind of a messy fashion. I went back and stamped the outline again over top in dye ink once the watercolours were dry. A few paint splatters and that super fun Friend Like You die finishes it off.

Happy birthday Concord & 9th! Thanks for stopping in today!

Simon Says Stamp Kid's Challenge

Last summer my daughter Robin was so excited to play along in the Simon Says Stamp summer vacation Kid's Challenge and she is thrilled to participate again this summer.

Robin loves making cards alongside me and especially loves any stamp set that has a cute critter in it. She used the adorable Clearly Besotted You're Purrfect set for her creation. After stamping her kitties and mouse she coloured them in with my Copics, stamped the sentiment and die cut the panel using a stitched rectangle die. Some pearls, rhinestones and dots of glitter glue finish it off.

Thanks for stopping in today and checking out Robin's creation! I'm back tomorrow with my own work. :)

Late for an Important Date

On Facebook the other day I joked that I should start a challenge blog that allows you to link up alllllll the cards you have made but didn't post in time to actually play along WITH the challenge. Ha!
So many of you agreed! :)

I thought I'd show you a few of the ones I've made recently that didn't get posted in time to play along...but why not share them anyway?!

This one was for a unicorn challenge at Curtain Call. I thought it turned out so cute. :)

Darn sketch challenge with only one week to enter! CAS(E) this Sketch always has some creative sketches to play along with...if you remember to link up in time. :)

And finally super cute patterned kites for the Lawnscaping Challenge #135: Patterned Palooza and...gasp!! I'm not late for this one! Yay!! It's a miracle. :)

Thanks for stopping in today! Do you have any cards you've made but didn't post in time for a challenge? Blog about them and share your link in the comments. I'd love to feel like I'm not the only one! :)
