Soft and Sweet

My card today gives a soft and sweet vibe, but since it's Monday I'm feeling hard and Maybe I need more coffee?
Despite having the Monday blues, I had a lovely weekend of quiet cardmaking and put together a card for the current Color Throwdown challenge.

I did some light ink blending right on the card base, and then paper pieced the sparkly silver Double Scallop Garland from Reverse Confetti across the width of the card. The sentiment and pink dots were stamped right on the card base, and Diamond Stickles were added to a few of the dots.

Here's a look at the colour inspiration I used:

Thanks for stopping in! Enjoy your day...I'm going to have another coffee and I'm determined to make Monday marvellous!

Inspired by All the Little Things #41

Valentine's Day is drawing nearer and I have another card for the occasion using this week's inspiration from the Inspired by All the Little Things challenge. Look at those candles! I'm pretty sure a crafter made them...twine and die cut felt hearts?! :)

I have another card using the Textured Rhapsody stencil from Memory Box. You can see my card from earlier this week using it here. This time I used white embossing paste through it, then die cut it with a stitched rectangle once dry. To get the Hugs sentiment to stand out more, I die cut it twice; once from silver sparkle cardstock and once from white foam and then adhered the two together.

Head on over to the Inspired By blog and see what the rest of teammates came up with. There's a lot of wonderful inspiration there. I hope you'll play along with us this week!

Dies: (heart) Papertrey Ink; (Painted Hugs, Stitched rectangles) Simon Says Stamp
Cardstock: (white, Pure Poppy, Kraft) Papertrey Ink; (silver sparkle) My Favorite Things
Other: (Textured Rhapsody stencil) Memory Box; (sequins) Pretty Pink Posh; embossing paste, twine, white foam

Fresh and Bold

Happy Thursday! I have card today that uses a fresh and bold colour combination that I'm just smitten with. I was inspired by the Card Concept challenge and their gorgeous inspiration photo. The colours, pillows, and pops of grey (which I interpreted as silver) caught my eye.

The background was created by masking off part of the white cardstock panel, and stencilling with the Texture Rhapsody (retired, but linked is a similar one) Memory Box stencil and dye inks. Reverse Confetti's Bitty Banner stamp and coordinating die cut were used for the sentiment. Lots of stitching detail and a few silver sequins finish it off. I am definitely going to use this colour combo again!

I followed Freshly Made Sketches #272 for the layout of my card. What a fun sketch!

Stamps: (Bitty Banners) Reverse Confetti

Inspired by All the Little Things #40

Today's inspiration for the Inspired by All the Little Things challenge brings a breath of springtime and prettiness to this dull winter! The lovely flower focal point and soft colours inspired me.

I used the Hero Arts Large Lotus flower die on grey cardstock and stamped My Favorite Things Myriad Dot background over top with white pigment ink. I blended soft pink ink on top of the flower and stamped dots, and then die cut it again from a pierced circle die. The sentiment from Everyday Messages was slightly curved and stamped around the edge of the circle. A lighter shade of grey cardstock was used for the card base, with the focal piece adhered using foam tape.

Now it's time to head on over to the Inspired By blog and see what the rest of my teammates came up with. You are sure to be amazed! I hope you'll play along with us this week...can't wait to see what you have created! Happy Saturday.

MFTWSC316- Party!

I'm playing along in the My Favorite Things weekly sketch challenge.

As with all sketches, I feel like they are a good basis for your elements but don't need to be stuck to rigidly. I love the cute dinosaurs and sentiments from You're Rawr-some. Here I coloured and die cut them very quickly, and paired them with a pierced circle, a background die (from Simon Says Stamp), and some sequins. It came together very quickly and is super cute! I'm still on a coloured cardstock kick. I'm trying very hard to leave the white card bases on my desk for awhile and challenge myself to use the colours in my stash. :)

Have a great day everyone! Hugs!

Inspired by All the Little Things #39

We're into the lovey dovey season with Valentine's inspiration this week for Inspired by All the Little Things! My husband and I don't really go crazy for this occasion as our wedding anniversary is only a few days later and we save our gifts and mushiness for that. :) That doesn't stop me from creating fun and love-filled cards for Valentine's Day though!

I used the Heart of Gold die from Neat & Tangled for my focal point and paper pieced several glittery, solid and mirrored cardstocks in it. Backing the papers with double-sided adhesive made paper piecing a lot faster and less finicky. The sentiment from Hero Arts was embossed in white.

Thanks for stopping in today. Play along with us at Inspired by All the Little Things! We'd love to see what you come up with.

Stay Warm!

Staying warm is what we are all doing today. Brrrr. School has been back one day and we now have a snow day. Not fair (says the mom desperately wanting a day to herself lol). Luckily the kiddos are still entertained by their Christmas presents and left me along to get inky in my corner.

When starting this card I reached for my typical white card base and then changed my mind. Why not try something outside my comfort zone and stamp on a coloured base? I used Concord & 9th's retired Mittens & Mugs for all the elements and added some Stickles glitter to the snowflakes. Easy peasy!

I used Casology's FOREST cue card for my inspiration today. I'm also linking up to the Where Creativity Meets C9 challenge which is to Try Something New (stamping on a coloured card base).

Thanks for stopping in and have a great day!

Inspired by All the Little Things #38

Welcome back to the Inspired by All the Little Things challenge! We took a little break over the Christmas holidays and are back with a new and gorgeous inspiration picture. For a refresher on how to play along with us, you can check out all the rules here. If one of your crafty goals for 2017 is to participate in more challenges, than our weekly challenge is a great one for you!

The gold, dusty pinks, and florals were my inspiration for this week. I started with embossing the Bundles of Blossoms Background on white cardstock in gold and then blending inks over top. Pink Lemonade dye ink makes up most of the panel, with Periwinkle concentrated around the edges. The now retired Celebrate Big was used for the sentiment, and Flashy Florals coordinating stamps and dies for the flowers.

That's all for today! Thanks for stopping in, and don't forget to check out all the other fabulous creations from the Inspired By team. I hope you'll play along with us!
