Friendly Florals

Heat embossing never gets old. It was one of the first techniques I experimented with when I started cardmaking and I still adore it; it's so magical to see that powder melt and become beautiful. The end results are always SO pretty. Gold embossing powder paired with watercolours is the star of the show today on my card.

On an A2 panel of watercolor paper I stamped the Cosmos background in Versamark ink using my MISTI and heat embossed with gold powder. I coloured the image in with watercolour paints and once it was dry die cut the panel using a stitched rectangle die. For the 'friend' sentiment I used Distress Ink blended on white cardstock to get the shade of yellow I wanted (fun to do when you don't have the colour of cardstock you need on hand!), then die cut it twice- once from the inked piece and once from vellum for the backing. It was adhered to the panel using foam tape, then the entire panel was adhered to a navy A2 card base using foam tape as well. The rest of the sentiment was cut from a Sentiment Strips 2 panel that had been foiled with gold foil paper, and glued under the friend sentiment. Gold sequins were added for a finishing touch!

I'm playing along with the Color Throwdown challenge this week.  I love this colour combo and will use it again for sure!

It's also a STAMP IT! theme at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge this week, so I'm joining in on that too! It sure does feel great to be back on a creative routine again. :) Thanks so much for stopping in and have a great day!
