The Card Concept #129- Warm Winter Wishes

It's time for another The Card Concept challenge! I created my card based on the inspiration photo below. This is a cute wintery scene but frankly, my mind is more on sunnier weather approaching. I used the elements of the photo to create something a little more reminiscent of springtime.

My clean and layered card draws from the woodgrain pattern, the circles of the snowmen, and the greenery of the boughs in the inspiration picture above.

I gave this A2 card some depth by blending dark ink around the edges of the woodgrain paper and adding layers of watercolor to the florals and greenery. Gold sequins compliment the heat embossed sentiment and the flowers and sentiment are the perfect shade of coral/apricot. A perfect card for a springtime birthday!

Head on over to The Card Concept blog to see how the rest of the team was inspired and what styles they used on their cards. Play along with us using any of the styles we highlight...I can't wait to see what you come up with!

Stamps: Sending and Wishing (Simon Says Stamp)
Ink: Versamark (Tsukineko); Apricot, Dark Chocolate dye ink (Simon Says Stamp); Zig Clean Color markers
Dies: floral dies (Flora & Fauna); pierced circles (My Favorite Things)
Paper: watercolor paper; Dark Chocolate cardstock (Simon Says Stamp); woodgrain (misc.)
Other: sequins (Pretty Pink Posh); gold embossing powder (Hero Arts)

  1. I love seeing how everyone is inspired differently by the board! Your take is absolutely beautiful! I love the gold embossed sentiment and those sweet flowers!

  2. Such a beautiful card in its style and coloring! One of my favorites!

Thanks for leaving me some love!
