The Card Concept #136-

It's time for another The Card Concept challenge! I created my card based on the inspiration photo below. This photo just screams that perfect time at the end of spring and heading into summer when the flowers are bright and bold and everything just looks fresh and pretty.

My clean and layered card today uses the tiled/embossed background and bright colours of the photo as my inspiration. I especially wanted to try and make a similar background for my card.

To create the embossed background for my card today I used the Folklore die cut from Pinkfresh Studio, and ran it through my Gemini Jr. using the embossing method rather than cutting. With a blender brush, I softly blended Island Blue ink over top of the raised parts. I trimmed the paper to 4" x 5.25" and glued it to an A2 card base. For the Hey Gorgeous sentiment I cut the backing die from vellum and the words from white cardstock and used Copic markers to colour them. It's adhered to the card using Multi Medium Matte glue which dries clear- perfect for vellum. Some gold sequins scattered around finish it off.

Head on over to The Card Concept blog to see how the rest of the team was inspired and what styles they used on their cards. Play along with us using any of the styles we highlight...I can't wait to see what you come up with!
