The Card Concept #137- Fun at the Lake

It's time for another The Card Concept challenge! I created my card based on the inspiration photo below. This scene just reminds me of summer camp, family vacations at the lake, and fishing down by the river at our house. I just love it. It's going to be hot out today, so maybe I'll take my fishing pole down to the river with the kids and cool off under a tree and try to catch something! Don't worry; we throw back in what we catch! :)

My clean and layered card today draws inspiration from the lake scene and colours of the photo. It was simple to make with some quick ink blending and stamping.

On a panel of white cardstock I stamped the scene and sentiment from Newton's Nook Lake Advice set. The sentiment was heat embossed using clear powder and once everything was dry I gently blended ink over top. I used some Copic markers to colour in a few of the trees. The canoe was stamped, coloured with Copics as well, and fussy cut out. I die cut the panel using a stitched rectangle, glued it to a red cardstock matting, and glued it all to a kraft A2 card base. The final touch was adhering the canoe with foam tape.

Head on over to The Card Concept blog to see how the rest of the team was inspired and what styles they used on their cards. Play along with us using any of the styles we highlight...I can't wait to see what you come up with! Don't forget to refresh your memory on the rules of how to play along.
