The Card Concept #139- Summer Harvest

It's time for another The Card Concept challenge! I created my card based on the inspiration photo below. That just screams September to me. Bright and sunny with touches of autumn creeping in. The sunflowers remind me of my garden and the bowl of veggies overflowing looks like my kitchen counter. We are still using up loads of garden produce we grew!

My clean and layered card drew its inspiration from the bucket of sunflowers, the black and white striped pillows, and the font on the chalkboard.

To make this card I stamped, heat embossed, and die cut the big sunflower (actually, I think it's a gerbera daisy). I used Daniel Smith watercolors to paint it and once dry, went back with a Copic marker to add some detail. The flower is popped up with foam tape on a patterned paper background that was cut slightly smaller than the A2 white card base. The sentiment was heat embossed in white on a black background, hand cut, and adhered using foam tape. The final touch was a few gold sequins.

Head on over to The Card Concept blog to see how the rest of the team was inspired and what styles they used on their cards. Play along with us using any of the styles we highlight...I can't wait to see what you come up with!
