The Card Concept #146- Winter Warmth

It's time for another The Card Concept challenge! Welcome to the first challenge for 2021. Maybe your New Year's resolution is to create more cards and our challenge can help you out with that! I created my card based on the inspiration photo below. I'm not sure what is in that mug but it looks delicious! I hope it's coffee...another dose of caffeine is exactly what I need right about now.

For my clean and layered card today, I used the Scandinavian/Nordic pattern on the mug as my inspiration. The crisp red and white colour scheme caught my attention and made me want to create a similar look in my creation.

On strips of coloured cardstock, I used white pigment ink and a blender brush to apply the ink through a stencil (a free gift with purchase from Taylored Expressions), and then heat embossed it using white powder. I could have used Versamark ink through the stencil and achieved the same results but thought the white pigment ink might look crisper in the end. The cardstock strips were trimmed to fit onto a white A2 card base. For the sentiment I stamped the 'hey' in black ink, then heat embossed with a sparkly embossing powder and fussy cut it out. It's adhered to the card using foam tape. The same process was used for the 'there' but with white powder on black cardstock.

Here's a closer look at some of the sparkly powder on the sentiment. It pops quite nicely against the colourful background!

Head on over to The Card Concept blog to see how the rest of the team was inspired and what styles they used on their cards. Play along with us using any of the styles we highlight...I can't wait to see what you come up with! *Please, please, please be mindful of the challenge rules. Post the inspiration photo, link to the challenge and don't combine your card with another inspiration challenge. Unfortunately many beautiful cards are not eligible for winning our challenge because they don't meet the criteria.*
